We reported (World news, Oct 15) that the Gulf states were to negotiate with Israeli weapons companies to acquire an anti-missile system, with the United States as middleman. The embassy of Bahrain has asked us to clarify that negotiations are taking place with the US, and that Israeli companies will not be involved.
