Never ones to court the mainstream, the Anglo-Asian outfit’s latest is a Punjabi-language album featuring the aptly named Bubbley Kaur, whom Tjinder Singh apparently discovered in a launderette. Her shrill, warbling vocals are married variously with squelchy electronica, harpsichord, funk bass and what sounds suspiciously like a didgeridoo — Double Decker Eyelashes imagines the Chili Peppers frugging with Henry VIII in a Bollywood nightspot. Charmingly bonkers.
