The latest addition to the Exige family has a supercharged 3.5-litre 355bhp V6 with a top speed of 170mph. It’s connected to a six-speed manual transmission enabling acceleration from 0 to 60mph in less than 3.8 seconds. Living up to the company ethos of “less is more”, the car weighs in at just 1,130kg and will appeal to diehard fans. Production will be limited to 50 cars.

Audi e-tron SUV

OK, so 2018 is not exactly “soon”, but Audi’s announcement that it is planning an all-electric SUV capable of 310 miles between charges is enough to make most motorists pay attention. Audi says the car’s game-changing range is down to its large lithium-ion battery pack and three electric motors. A concept version is due to be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show next month.
