Jaguar's new entry-level car will be unveiled tomorrow at a star-studded event in London. The XE is a rival to the Mercedes C-class, equipped with efficient engines that return up to 75mpg. The singer Emeli Sandé and the designer Stella McCartney will be among those lending a little stardust to the launch, which will be streamed on the web. The Ford Focus, one of Britain’s most popular family cars, has been fitted with the latest driver aids as Ford gears up to maintain its lead over the VW Golf. There are new engines, neat features such as Ford’s MyKey (which allows a parent to restrict the car’s top speed and the volume of the radio when their child borrows the car) and it will even reverse itself into a roadside parking space.
