Luke Beckett’s strike three minutes into time added on salvaged a point for Huddersfield as unbeaten Brentford looked set for their third win in four matches. Jo Kuffour’s goal a minute earlier looked to have won the match for Brentford when he scored from Alex Rhodes’ cross. Kuffour had headed Brentford in front at the start of a frantic last 20 minutes. Danny Schofield scored Huddersfield’s first equaliser. Peter Jackson, the Huddersfield manager, said the result felt like a win, but added: ‘I was disappointed with the way we gifted them two goals’

Forest made it four wins in four matches but had to come back from behind to beat an unlucky Brighton. Jake Robinson fired in from close range for the first goal scored against Colin Calderwood’s side this season. Grant Holt equalised from a penalty after Adam El-Abd had fouled Jack Lester. It was relief for Forest, who had already missed three spot-kicks this season. Holt scored the winner when he headed in before El-Abd was sent off. Colin Calderwood, the Forest manager, was full of praise for his goalscorer. He said: ‘Grant turned in an exceptional centre-forward performance today’

Swansea 2 Doncaster 0
Trundle 83, 90

Swansea had started the season with a hangover from their playoff final defeat in May and were desperate for Lee Trundle to open his account. Doncaster won both matches between the teams last season 2-1 with late goals. This time it was Swansea’s turn. The home side gave a debut to 6ft 7in Trinidad and Tobago centre-back Dennis Lawrence, who they signed from Wrexham last week, and he immediately strengthened a defence that conceded five goals in three matches. A more familiar name, though, was the hero upfront as Trundle won the match with two clinical shots

Swansea: Gueret, Amankwaah, Austin, Iriekpen, Lawrence, Britton, Pratley, McLeod, Butler, Trundle, Fallon

Doncaster: Blayney, S Roberts, Lee, Lockwood, McDaid, O’Connor, Thornton, Griffith, McCammon, Price, Coppinger

Barnet 3 Hereford 0
Grazioli 28
Bailey 62
Puncheon 90

Two wins in their first three matches on returning to League football was a fair start for Hereford. So they would have travelled to Barnet in good heart to play another former Conference side who had lost their opening three matches. Hereford had won four of the clubs’ 10 previous meetings in the League and Barnet just two,but it was the home side who dominated. Giuliano Grazioli, a player who made his name in the Conference, fired Barnet in front from 12 yards. Nick Bailey doubled their lead from the edge of the box. Jason Puncheon hit the third, and best, from 30 yards

Barnet: Harrison, Hendon, Charles, King, Nicolau, Cogan, Bailey, Sinclair, Puncheon, Kandol, Grazioli

Dennis Wise could not have hoped for a better start to his management career at Swindon than four wins from four games to send them top of League Two. Darlington dominated from early on but were two down after just 21 minutes. Paul Evans curled in a 25-yard free kick and then Christian Roberts, who almost got the final touch to the first goal, struck the second. Gaetano Giallanza pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time when he fired in from six yards. Roberts admitted that Wise had told him to get into the penalty area a lot more. ‘I was in the right place at the right time,’ Roberts added Darlington: Russell, Holloway, Collins, Hutchinson, James, Cummins, Ngoma, Duke, Giallanza, Conlon, Smith
