Clyde & Co is a global law firm providing a complete service to clients in its core sectors of insurance, transport, energy, infrastructure, and trade and commodities.
The firm advised TotalEnergies on the successful negotiation of a multibillion-pound fuel supply and purchase agreement and the grant of brand rights to Alimentation Couche-Tard, the Canadian convenience store leader. The deal covered the sale and purchase of TotalEnergies’s retail networks in four European countries: Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
The firm acted for Wipro, a multinational technology company, in a claim from a FTSE 250 utilities company after the termination of a complex project. It also advised the Spanish company Dragados, in consortium with Siemens Energy, on the world’s first order for 2GW grid connection at sea. The green electricity generated will feed into the German power grid with capacity to meet the demand of about four million people, supporting Germany’s accelerated energy transition goal.

Scotland
Established in the 1933 by Richard Clyde, a Scottish lawyer, the London-headquartered global giant today has three offices north of the border, in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The firm’s Scotland-based lawyers specialise primarily in insurance matters — in particular defending personal injury claims and advising on professional negligence, dispute resolution and employment cases. The Aberdeen outpost also counts among its clients some of the world’s largest oil and gas businesses and advises local Highlands companies from sectors such as agriculture, construction, distilling and fishing.
Clyde & Co’s cases this year include working with First Bus in an insurance fraud case. This involved a couple who claimed they had suffered significant injuries after a minor collision that scraped the side of their car. CCTV footage revealed that the husband was not even in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The pair were fined, ordered to pay legal costs and left with criminal records.
