5 reasons why we love... Leica Pinmaster II
1. It helps golfers reduce their handicap by showing a close-up view of the golf course and measuring distances to each pin. 2. LED adjusts automatically to ambient light. 3. Has a water-repellent lens coating that makes rain roll off it. 4. It’s all operated by one button. 5. You get 7x magnification and a wide field view of 347ft at 1,000 yards (£495; 020-7629 1351).

Brand watch: b Store
The b Store brand started in 2001 as a shoe line, but from the off was a breeding ground for young designers. In hindsight, its success was always going to be assured with clothing that was cool without being elitist. Fans include Mark Ronson and George Lamb. This spring it teams up with Baracuta and Liberty. With the former, it gives its own take on the G3 Harrington jacket, £319, and the 1966 Ramsey raincoat, £339. The latter is a print capsule collection using Liberty archive fabrics, ranging from £175 for a two-colour shirt to £270 for a print blazer (bstorelondon.com).

Buckle down
Bespoke belt company Elliot Rhodes has introduced some rather dashing new lines to its collection. The range comprises 200 straps, starting at £65, and 800 buckles, from £15, and the customer chooses which goes with which (elliotrhodes.com).

Get mad
M&S is expanding its Limited formal wardrobe for men from 10 to 70 stores. Inspired by Mad Men, it combines sharp, monochrome tailoring with slim fits. Round-collared shirts and peak lapels add to the retro twist. With suits at £99, ties £15 and shirts £25, it’s affordable, too (marksandspencer.com).
