CLIMATE change is stealing up the managerial agenda, according to a study by the Management Consultancies Association (MCA).
Of 200 public sector managers and business leaders surveyed, 70 per cent say that climate change is a top ten priority. Five years ago, only 39 per cent said it.
Yet 75 per cent say that they are only scratching the surface when it comes to reducing carbon emissions. “The cost of pollution is not yet high enough to focus the attention of senior managers,” says Fiona Czerniawska, of the MCA. “Reducing emissions is still just one of the many things jockeying for funds.” www.mca.org.uk
