Founded in the southwest in 1888, the national law firm Clarke Willmott celebrates its 135th anniversary this year. The firm has offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton and works with businesses and individuals across diverse sectors, including real estate, agriculture, social housing and leisure.

Recent work includes advising on the £13.9 million sale of Capital Cash, a pawnbroking and retail services company with 42 stores across England, to Cash Converters, an Australian stock exchange-listed personal finance and second-hand retail company.

Clarke Willmott acted successfully in the Supreme Court, which threw out an appeal against plans for the redevelopment of Bath Rugby’s Recreation Ground site, ending a long-running legal dispute. The firm acted for Bath Recreation, the freeholder of the site, as a co-appellant with Bath Rugby, the tenant of the stadium.
