New York This 1948 Gibson L-5P, owned by Eric Clapton, sold for $82,960 (£51,700) at an auction of the British rock star’s instruments and amps at Bonhams in New York on Tuesday.

The musician has raised a total of £1.3 million by selling off his collection instruments for his Crossroads rehab centre in Antigua. .
