City stars head non exec list

THREE boardroom heavyweights have been shortlisted in the KBC Peel Hunt non-executive director of the year awards, sponsored by The Sunday Times.

Sir John Parker, chairman of Anglo American, Roger Carr, chairman of Centrica and Cadbury, and Sir Michael Rake, chairman of BT Group, are regarded as the best three non-executives at FTSE 100 companies.

The winner of this and four other categories will be announced at a ceremony in London on February 10.

Lady Judge of the UK Atomic Energy Authority, Philip Augar at the Department for Children, Schools and Families, and Ken Olisa at Thames Reach are shortlisted in the not-for-profit sector.

In the AIM-listed companies sector, the nominees are David Evans of Immunodiagnostics Systems Holdings, David Bailey of Sport Media Group and Alan Walker of Healthcare Locums.
