Vanessa Dowsett is this week’s winner with her photograph of fishermen on the Mekong in Laos. “I had observed their dexterity over several days when finally the light was perfect,” she says. “I was squinting into the sun with maximum zoom and no tripod on a rickety bridge, but my perseverance paid off. Seconds later the boat and light changed and the moment had gone.”
