Sir, Relatively trivial complaints against Churchill (letter, February 7) are inappropriate at the time of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps. (My turn came in Dachau on April 29, 1945.)
If it were not for Churchill’s inspired leadership, Hitler might well have got to England, and there would have been wholesale murder of the refugees from Nazi Germany, not just temporary internment.
Yours faithfully,
WITOLD GUTT,
79 West Heath Road, NW3 7TH.
