Christian Benteke has suffered a thigh injury and the Liverpool striker is likely to miss Belgium’s Euro 2016 qualifying match at home to Bosnia-Herzegovina on Thursday.

Belgium also play away to Cyprus on Sunday as they try to close the gap on Wales, who lead them by three points at the top of group B.

Adnan Januzaj, the Manchester United winger who has moved on loan to Borussia Dortmund, has a similar problem and is a doubt for the game, while Marouane Fellaini missed his flight from England and did not train yesterday. “I told him that it can happen,” Marc Wilmots, the Belgium coach, said.
