Record producers are hoping that an all-girl vocal group called All Angels will do as well as the boys of Il Divo.
Universal Music Group created the group after a £2 million nationwide search and plan to release the girls’ first recording by Christmas.
Dickon Stainer, of Universal, said: “These girls are set to do for classical music what the Arctic Monkeys have done for rock.” However, critics have accused the company of dumbing down serious music.
