Charly Musonda, the Chelsea midfielder, is expected to arrive in Glasgow today to finalise an 18-month loan deal to Celtic. The Belgian, who was an unused substitute yesterday as Chelsea defeated Newcastle United to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup, was also wanted by Premier League side Bournemouth.

Brendan Rodgers made efforts to bring the 21-year-old to Celtic Park last summer, only to be rebuffed by Chelsea. However, Musonda will today hold talks with the Celtic manager, who has been eager to bolster his squad ahead of the Europa League tie against Zenit St Petersburg next month.

Musonda moved to Stamford Bridge from Anderlecht in 2012, spending last season on loan at Real Betis in Spain. He has since made seven appearances for Chelsea, scoring once.
