Charlatans all at sea as fort becomes a concert venue

The Charlatans are to play a one-off gig on a tiny fort in the middle of the sea on June 21.

Tim Burgess and Mark Collins will perform on the privately owned Spitbank Fort, converted to an exclusive venue, about a mile from the coast of Portsmouth.

The show on June 21 will be a warm-up for the band’s performance at the Isle of Wight Festival that weekend. The event has been organised by Absolute Radio, which will broadcast the concert.
