Brian Hanrahan

A celebration of the life and work of Brian Hanrahan, BBC correspondent, was held on Wednesday April 6 at Broadcasting House.

Ms Helen Boaden, director, BBC News, bade welcome and spoke of Brian’s early career; Mr Robert Fox, defence correspondent, Evening Standard, spoke of the Falklands War; Mr James Robbins, diplomatic correspondent, read an excerpt from Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Mr Nick Sutton, editor, The World at One, The World this Weekend, spoke of Brian’s radio career: Mr Mark Byford, deputy director-general, BBC, reflected on Brian’s legacy. Mr Allan Little, world affairs correspondent, and Ms Claire Bolderson, presenter, Newshour, also spoke.
