[The numbers refer to a photograph not carried on the website}

David Kirkwood The Scotland schoolboy international played just nine games in his time at Ibrox before moving to Hearts in July 1989 for £100,000. He was shipped to Airdrie for the same fee 18 months later and ended his playing career at Raith Rovers where he helped them to the First Division title in 1995. He was a youth coach at Murray Park until May this year. Now assistant manager to Scott Leitch at Ross County

Stuart Munro Started at St Mirren and Alloa before moving to Rangers in 1984 and was a mainstay of the Souness era despite big-name arrivals. Had a short spell at Blackburn then Bristol City before heading back to Scotland in 1995 with Falkirk. He returned to Love Street then moved to Australia to play with Sydney United and is now head coach of Oakleigh Cannons in the Victoria Premier League in Australia

Terry Butcher The signing of the England captain for £725,000 from Ipswich the previous August marked a new era in Scottish football. The centre-half skippered the club to three championships and two League Cups before leaving for Coventry in November 1990 for £500,000. He also amassed 77 caps and helped England to the semi-finals of the 1990 World Cup in Italy. He had unsuccessful managerial spells at Coventry and Sunderland but returned to Scotland in 2001 as assistant to Eric Black at Motherwell. Stepped into the breach when Black left as the club slipped into administration and twice steered them into the SPL’s top six, and also to a CIS Cup final defeat by Rangers in 2005. Recently left Fir Park to take charge of Sydney FC in Australia

Robert Fleck Hit 34 goals in 104 games for Rangers and won four caps for Scotland, which took in Italia 90. Moved on to Norwich, where he still enjoys cult status. After a spell with Chelsea he returned to Carrow Road before injury cut short his career while at Reading. Now managing in non-league football with Diss Town in Norfolk

Graham Roberts Rangers were fourth in the table when Roberts, an FA Cup and Uefa Cup winner with Spurs, arrived in November of 1986 and sparked a 19-game unbeaten run that drove the club to the title. After a fall-out with Souness, Chelsea took Roberts back to London in 1988 and he finished his playing career at West Brom. Managed a clutch of non-league clubs in England before taking over at Clyde last season, guiding them to their famous Scottish Cup victory over Celtic in January, although a row on an end-of-season tour with assistant Joe Miller curtailed his involvement at Broadwood

Chris Woods Made his debut as an 18-year-old in Nottingham Forest’s League Cup final defeat by Liverpool in 1978. Also played for QPR and Norwich before joining Rangers, where he went a record 1,196 minutes without conceding a league goal. Won four titles and four League Cups before joining Sheffield Wednesday for £1.2m in 1991. Also played for Kansas City Wiz and Burnley and won 43 caps for England. He is now a goalkeeping coach at Everton

John McGregor Having started his career at Queen’s Park, McGregor was signed by Liverpool in 1982 but failed to make the grade at Anfield and returned to Glasgow in 1987 with Rangers. He made 29 appearances for the first-team before becoming youth coach at Ibrox in 1991, staying there until the coaching structure was reshuffled in February 2003. He then scouted for Everton

Ian Durrant Despite missing three years of a blossoming career after Neil Simpson’s tackle in October 1988 ruptured ligaments in his knee, Durrant won three titles, three Scottish Cups, four League Cups and 20 Scotland caps in his time at Ibrox. He was also instrumental in the Champions League run of 1992-93 that took Rangers to the equivalent of the semi-finals of the European Cup, and he ended his playing career at Kilmarnock. Now Ibrox reserve coach
