David, left, a former computer programmer now taking a master’s degree in ecological psychology, had no real complaints about Coutts, but once his interest in ethical investing developed he wanted his investments managed by someone with specialist knowledge in that area.
He also moved his current account to Co-operative Bank for ethical reasons. David, who built his own eco-friendly house in Monmouthshire, South Wales, said his new bank was efficient, but more impersonal: ‘While I sometimes miss the personal touch, you get what you pay for in life and I have no regrets about switching my account.’
