Its corporate team advised Foresight Group, a listed sustainability-led alternative investment manager, on its investment in Harvest London, a UK-based controlled-environment agriculture company, to support the development of the vertical farming industry. Founded in 2017 by Chris Davies and Matt Chlebek, Harvest London has built two farms, grown more than 100 different crops using hydroponic vertical farming techniques and partnered with brands including Pizza Pilgrims and Compass Group.
The firm’s energy team advised Bristol city council’s City Leap project on a 20-year joint venture with the renewable energy company Ameresco, which will enable the delivery of more than £1 billion of investment into Bristol’s energy system. This will support the city in meeting its carbon reduction ambition of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
Its corporate restructuring and insolvency team advised ACL Companies and the joint partners at the specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory on the appointment of joint administrators and subsequent sale of the Coventry Building Society Arena. The deal helped to secure up to 1,000 jobs in Coventry and ensures that the venue will continue to play a key role in the city’s economy.
