Urban Owl, a sculpture by Ivor Abrahams, the Royal Academician, is among works at the British Art Fair, which takes place at the Royal College of Art until Sunday.
The fair, in its seventeenth year, covers British art from 1900 to the present day. Some sixty dealers are participating this time.
The artist, whose work is represented in the Tate and public collections worldwide, said: “Urban Owl is drawn from my experience of living in leafy Willesden (and is) composed of images gleaned from my locale, including dilapidated garden sheds, rooftops, flowers and fauna. A three-dimensional model is developed from original flat photo-drawn images. Digital technology is used to manipulate the images to fit the form of the sculpture. Hand painting is then used to integrate the final composition.”
