Bridge to nowhere

Sir, London is famous for its parks and has probably more than any other city in the world. The Thames from Hampton Court to Tower Bridge is crossed by numerous bridges. To build another, disguised as a park, leading from nowhere to nowhere at enormous expense at a time of financial stringency, would be an absurd self-indulgence (“A Bridge to Nature”, leader, Oct 19).
