Bracewell has a unique position in the London legal market as the only office of an international law firm exclusively dedicated to the energy sector.

In a standout year for the energy transition practice, its London office worked on transactions across the renewables industry.

The firm acted as international counsel to the lenders on the acquisition of Lekela Power, an independent power producer company based in the Netherlands, with investments in Africa. The deal represented the largest mergers and acquisitions transaction for a portfolio of operating renewable assets across Africa.

The office represented the lenders on the 300 MW Saad photovoltaic solar independent power producer project, under the third round of Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Programme.

It also advised the Italian energy company Eni on an agreement with HitecVision to expand its joint venture company, Vårgrønn, which acquired Eni’s 20 per cent stake in the Dogger Bank offshore wind project, set to be the world’s largest.
