Boeing is to ditch a service that gave passengers broadband internet access while flying because of a lack of demand.
Closing the Connexion project, which uses satellites to provide internet access, will cost the US-based aircraft manufacturer $320 million (£170 million) this year.
Boeing had given warning in June that the Connexion service, which employs about 560 people, was under review and many in the industry had expected it to be axed.
