Animal rights campaigners kidnap pro-hunting types in this low-budget fake documentary, but the performances are woeful

If you watch only one “man exposed to the elements and hunted like an animal” film this week, make sure it’s Essential Killing, and not this low-budget British fake documentary. The concept is pruriently tantalising: animal activists kidnap a group of pro-hunting types, stripping them to their underpants and then forcing them to run for their lives. The execution is ham-fisted at best — with dismal performances.

The film-makers involved should be stripped to their undies and made to stand in the cold as penance.
