Blooded

Blooded was a great concept. A “documentary” about five members of the pro-fox hunting lobby, who go stag shooting on the island of Mull to get away from it all. But after some poncing about in tweed plus fours, a blooding with the deer’s fresh gore, and a rah-rah dinner in tuxedos, it all goes wrong. Guess what, folks? The hunters become the hunted, after they are captured by animal rights activists. Stripped to their underwear and left on a freezing moor, the huntin’ shootin’ fishin’ toffs find themselves in the crosshairs, as the activists take potshots at them. If only the acting and the script had been better — or more comic — this could have worked. But the moc-doc format is rather silly. Beautiful aerial shots of Mull, though.
