LE HARDY Vicomte Hugues on 2nd April 2021, aged 100, of Chateau de la Bavette, Belgium, and of Kingsleigh, Dorset. His kinsmen and friends in Britain recall a man of indomitable spirit and innate modesty.

HOWARTH

Robert Lever (Bob) (31.7.27-2.4.2021) died on 2nd April 2021, aged 93, peacefully following a long battle with dementia. Bob Howarth was MP for Bolton East between 1964 and 1970, leader of Bolton MBC for 24 years from 1980 and chairman of Manchester airport twice. Bob was a proud Boltonian and was delighted in 2001 when he was made a freeman of Bolton.

As well as being dedicated to serving his local community he was a much-loved husband of Josie (deceased), brother of Irene (deceased), father of Sarah and Michael, father-in-law to Rob and proud granddad to William and Joseph.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
