Birthdays

Sir Jocelyn Stevens, speaking from his house in Spain, says: “I’m really not doing anything at all out here. I’ve bought some land here and am spending a lot of time in it. It is a lovely day, I’m in the mountains and it is really beautiful.” Back in London he is still involved with fundraising for the Royal College of Art where he was rector and vice-provost for eight years until 1992. He says: “I am actually in a good mood now to start wiring my book about my days in publishing and about some of the hilarious early days of Pirate Radio which eventually became a big business and changed the face of music radio.” He has nothing special planned for his birthday:”is that really how old I am?” and is looking forward to his return to London and “getting busy with other things”. Sir Jocelyn Stevens is 76 today. RGT
