Although his appearances on television, film and West End productions have been numerous, the actor Martin Jarvis is better known for his versatile voice. A regular on Radio 4, he also narrates audiobooks including the novels of Dick Francis and P. G. Wodehouse. The latter recordings have been described by The Times as “the ubermeister of comic English novels read by the ubermeister of reading them”.
He is 62 today.
