Big on bio

An electronic device that claims to allow petrol cars to run on 100% bioethanol could speed the introduction of biofuels on forecourts.

The Fullflex Manager, which costs £450-£550 from Green Fuels of Malmesbury, Wiltshire, plugs into the car’s engine management system and adjusts the fuel injectors so they can adapt to any petrol/bioethanol blend.

Bioethanol has a higher octane rating than unleaded so unmodified petrol cars can run on a mix of only up to about 15% bioethanol.
