A Miss USA pageant contender quit after alleging that the contest was rigged.
Sheena Monnin wrote on Facebook that a fellow contestant learnt the names of the top five finishers hours before the show was broadcast. “In my heart I believe in honesty, fair play, a fair opportunity, and high moral integrity, none of which in my opinion are part of this pageant system any longer,” she wrote
Donald Trump, who runs the Miss Universe Organisation, said she quit because a transgender contestant was allowed to take part. He said that he planned to sue her for making the “false charge”.
The contest was won by Olivia Culpo, of Rhode Island. (AP)
