In one of the most high-profile cases of 2023, BCL represented Kevin Spacey, the Oscar-winning actor, who was cleared of sexual offences against four men in their 20s and 30s between 2004 and 2013. The musician Sir Elton John was among the witnesses who gave evidence for Spacey in the four-week trial at Southwark crown court.
Over the past year, the firm has advised multiple parties regarding the Grenfell Tower fire and the Metropolitan Police’s continuing investigation. It is also acting for a former chief finance officer in a Serious Fraud Office bribery prosecution linked to the mining sector.
