Today we have a smaller fleet of six different types and average aircraft age is lower. We have also significantly reduced work which we carried out for other airlines.
The materials and technology used in aircraft design over the past 10 years has improved rapidly so the amount of maintenance has reduced, as with private cars. Our maintenance procedures are in line with manufacturers’ guidelines and approved by the UK government’s safety watchdog, the Civil Aviation Authority. Safety is absolutely paramount and will never be compromised.
