MORE than 3,000 passengers have had the British Airways flights that they were booked on today and over the weekend cancelled because of staff shortages. BA was last night trying to contact everyone booked on the 14 cancelled flights to offer either a seat on a later flight or a refund.
Aberdeen, Manchester and Glasgow will each lose one flight to and from Heathrow today. One return service to Phoenix, Arizona, and three to New York will also be cancelled over the weekend.
More than 200 BA staff have volunteered to work this weekend to cover for staff vacancies and absenteeism.
