IN a statement issued by Lloyd’s victims after the hearing, the women said that their attacker had hidden behind his middle-class image of respectability.
“James Desmond Lloyd has been at liberty for over 20 years, knowing what he had done to a number of women. He has hidden behind the façade of respectability and has shown no remorse for the crimes he had committed.
“Following today’s events we now hope that this enables people to move on with their lives.
“Unfortunately, some of the people who were affected by Lloyd are no longer with us today to see justice served and they too are in our thoughts today.
“Over recent months the women who were attacked by Lloyd have been forced to relive events from years ago and now ask that they be allowed to continue in their personal healing process privately.

“James Desmond Lloyd is a cowardly individual who fully deserves to serve a long custodial sentence, dwelling upon the crimes he committed.”
