I inherited a vase from my auntie; she got it from her father. I have looked at various websites to try to ascertain its provenance. My best guess is Islamic/Turkish. On the base is the maker's mark. Can you advise?

I understand why you would think your vase is of Turkish or other Islamic origin. The Middle East was certainly the inspiration, but it was made by the Zsolnay factory in Pecs, Hungary. The mark on the base is the trademark used in the late 19th century, featuring the town's five towers.
The pottery, which is still in operation, was founded in 1853 by the Zsolnay family and won many international awards during the late 19th century. I find its most exciting productions date from about 1900: art nouveau in their inspiration, they are covered in thick, shimmering lustre glazes.
Your vase, which dates from about 1890, was a highly popular type, with its novel double walls and pierced, lobed panels. The most popular among collectors today are those of extravagant Islamic form, complemented by a vivid turquoise glaze.

Should you ever need to replace your vase, it would probably cost you about £200.
