Asha Bhosle & Shujaat Khan: Naina Lagai Ke

The producers of the 007 films have missed a trick in never asking the queen of Bollywood soundtracks to sing a Bond song

The album title translates as “For Your Eyes Only” and the 007 producers have clearly missed a trick in never asking the queen of Bollywood soundtracks to sing a Bond song. Here, two Indian music greats combine beautifully, with Khan’s deep voice complementing the youthful flightiness that Bhosle can still bring to a song almost 70 years since she began. The sleeve boasts that the nine songs are “Indian easy listening”; they sound as if they were easy to record, too.
