Sir, If only Michael Gove’s dispute with Philip Hammond had been extended to arms contracts with Saudi Arabia, then perhaps both the causes of peace and human rights could have been upheld (“Cabinet rift widens as No 10 scraps Saudi deal”, Oct 14). The human rights committee of the United Nations will hardly welcome its newest member.
