Leicestershire v Kent
Saturday, Sky Sports 1, 1.30pm

Leicestershire will be on a high after clinching their first championship success of the season this week but the bookmakers expect them to struggle in Pro 40 Division Two this summer, with most offering 20-1 against them winning the title. By contrast, Kent are no bigger than 8-1 to take the honours and they can get their campaign off to a bright start by winning this contest at a general 8-11.

John Smith’s Cup
Saturday, Channel 4, 3.15pm

This race carries prize-money of £150,000 and trainer Richard Fahey is clearly intent on his winning his share because he saddles five runners. The pick of his quintet looks Charlie Tokyo, a progressive sort who will be suited by the combination of ten furlongs and easy ground. He seems sure to be on the premises and is worth backing each-way at a best price of 16-1 with Stan James.

Nicky Cook v Steven Luevano
Saturday, ITV 1, coverage starts 9.10pm

This pair are competing for the vacant WBO title and the bookmakers find it hard to split them, with several offering the pair at 10-11. Londoner Cook is unbeaten and will be on home soil but Luevano, who boxed internationally for the United States as an amateur and has lost just once in 33 bouts as a professional, could have too many aces for him. Luevano, evens with Sporting Odds, is fancied to assert his authority as the bout wears on and is a tempting 50-1 with Betfred to win in round nine.

Brazil v Argentina
Sunday, Sky Sports 1, 10.05pm

Argentina brought a full-strength squad to the Copa America and have cruised into the final — scoring 16 goals in their five matches and brushing aside Mexico 3-0 in their semi-final. By contrast, Brazil have had to cope without such as Kaka and Ronaldinho and, after starting with a 2-0 defeat against Mexico, needed a penalty shootout to beat Uruguay in their semi-final. Back Argentina to win normal time at 10-11 with Paddy Power or, alternatively, to be ahead at half-time and full time at 11-5 with Coral.
