Aggreko was left crying for its dwindling Argentina connection as it reported profits down by 10 per cent to £63 million in the first half of the year.
The supplier of temporary power to events such as the Glastonbury festival suffered as the winding down of the contracts in the South American country dragged on performance.
Aggreko said that revenue rose by 16 per cent to £792 million over the six months to the end of June although it said that the underlying figure was flat after stripping out the effect of currency movements and fuel charges.
It had warned that operations in Argentina would hit its results as deals signed as far back as 2008 came to an end and were re-negotiated on cheaper terms.
Excluding the results for there would mean that revenue for the group would have risen by 6 per cent.

Shares slipped 26p to 842½p.
