Lord Woolf, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, has been named as the new Chairman of UCL Council. He will join UCL Council as Vice-Chairman on October 1, 2004, and succeed Lord Young of Graffham as Chairman on October 1, 2005.

Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic
Mr Simon Gass has been appointed Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic in succession to Sir David Madden who will be retiring from the Diplomatic Service. Mr Gass will take up his new appointment at the end of 2004.

Stuart Douglas Robertson has been appointed a Salaried full-time Chairman of the Employment Tribunals with effect from June 14, 2004.

District Judge Sally Lynn Williams has been appointed a Circuit Judge, assigned to the South Eastern Circuit with effect from June 30, 2004.
Jeremy Simon Richards has been appointed a Circuit Judge, assigned to the South Eastern Circuit with effect from July 7, 2004.
His Honour Judge Alan Fraser Wilkie, QC, has been appointed a Justice of the High Court, assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
