Ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic

John Jenkins, CMG, LVO, has been appointed Ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic, in succession to Mr Peter Ford, who will be retiring from the Diplomatic Service. Dr Jenkins, 51, the former Ambassador in Rangoon and Consul-General in Jerusalem, will take up the appointment in December.
