FUNERAL SERVICE
The Hon Lady Aitken
The funeral service for the Hon Lady Aitken was held yesterday at St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey. The Rev Philip Chester, Vicar of St Matthew’s, Westminster, and Priest Vicar, Westminster Abbey, officiated and preached the homily.
Mr William Aitken, Mr Jack Davenport and Miss Victoria Aitken, grandchildren, gave readings.

APPOINTMENTS IN THE ARMED FORCES
Army
Brigadier J. M. J. Balfour (Late The Royal Green Jackets), currently Director of Infantry has been appointed United Kingdom Coordinator Kosovo Protection Corps in the rank of Major General, in succession to Major General A R Freer.
Major General K. H. Cima (Late Corps of Royal Engineers), currently Senior Army Member, Royal College of Defence Studies has been appointed Headquarters LAND/Headquarters AG Co-location Programme Team Leader.

Brigadier M. F. N. Mans (Late Corps of Royal Engineers), currently Assistant Chief of Staff Plans, Headquarters Land Command is to be Deputy Commanding General Multinational Corps - Iraq in February 2005 in the rank of Major General, in succession to Major General A. P. Farquhar.
