Angela Rippon joined the stars of Billy Elliot yesterday at the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards.
The former newsreader - who makes her stage debut in a national tour of Cole Porter musical Anything Goes next month - hosted the ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London.
The 61-year-old put on her dancing shoes when she met Leon Cooke, who plays Billy Elliot in the West End musical.
They were joined by Cuban ballet star Carlos Acosta.
Billy Elliot took home the prize for best choreography in musical theatre.
