Aga builds sales in Eastern Europe

AGA Foodservice Group, the oven and fridge maker, is selling its products to Russian and Ukrainian supermarkets as part of a global expansion.

The Solihull-based company, which makes the eponymous cast-iron cooker and the Rangemaster range, said yesterday that sales of its industrial kitchen goods in Eastern Europe were encouraging. It has sold its industrial-sized ovens to Fozzy, Ukraine’s leading supermarket chain, and Magnit, a Russian group.

Aga issued a trading statement yesterday ahead of the release of its 2005 full-year results in March. It told investors that it would meet market expectations. Analysts expect full-year sales of about £480 million for a pre-tax profit of £42 million, or 26.3p per share. Aga shares firmed 4p to 332p yesterday and are trading at their highest in eight years.
