The firm has delivered its eighth successive year of income growth, with turnover up 12 per cent on last year.

As the pandemic continues to affect businesses, it is advising several UK lenders on the implementation of the government’s Covid liquidity arrangements, including the coronavirus business interruption, bounceback, coronavirus large business and recovery loan schemes.

Highlights of the past year include advising Unitel, Angola’s largest mobile phone provider, which sued Unitel International Holdings, a Dutch company controlled by the billionaire businesswoman Isabel dos Santos, the daughter of Angola’s former longstanding President José Eduardo dos Santos. The claim for more than £300 million was to enforce loan facilities and related security.

More than 30 lawyers across the firm’s offices in Europe are working on a unique collaboration between two of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world. They are advising Volkswagen, which is seeking to create an alliance with Ford to cooperate on developing electric vehicles and self-driving technology.
