Actresses are ‘insane’, says Daniel Radcliffe

Breaking the hearts of potential co-stars everywhere, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe says he would never date an actress because they are “completely barking”.

Boy wizard Radcliffe, who turns 18 on July 23, said he mainly meets girls through his work, but some actresses were “just insane”.

In an interview to be published in the August issue of US men’s magazine Details, the boy wizard also reveals he is relieved the series is coming to an end.

Radcliffe tells the magazine: “I think it would be very hard to go out with an actress, because they’re mad.

“Some actresses are just insane. I’ve never worked with a nasty actress - they’re all absolutely delightful. But completely barking.”

He also says he does not go to nightclubs because of concern about how it would look in the tabloids.

“All it takes is for me to be seen chatting up a girl for [newspapers] to, you know, make up some crappy headline about me being a sex rat or whatever they call it,” he says.

Radcliffe also tells the magazine that his nude onstage performance in Equus with co-star Joanna Christie was “the least arousing process”.

“Jo’s beautiful,” he says.

“But after you’ve gone through it a hundred times with an audience there...”

And unlike millions of fans of the boy wizard he plays, Radcliffe says he is relieved that it is ending.

“[I’m] the only kid in the world who doesn’t want an eighth Harry Potter book.”

The seventh book in the series is published on July 21 and the fifth film, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, opens in UK cinemas on Friday.
