The Cardiff collective Acid Casuals’ debut has been a long time coming. But the chief Casuals Cian Ciaran, Super Furry Animals’ sample wizard, and Kev Tame, the bassist of Welsh favourites Big Leaves, have come up with a diverse and intriguing record. The impressively titled opener If I’m A Selt, You’re A Sunt is one of several cinematic moments, while “Y Ferch ar y Cei yn Rio” offers the Beach Boys-esque melancholy that Ciaran hears at his day job. This deserves a wider audience than SFA fans.
