A fetching addition to Wimbledon

Jessie, a police dog trained to sniff out drugs and explosives, has expanded her repertoire at Wimbledon. While patrolling off her leash at the All England Club, the two-year-old English springer spaniel retrieves tennis balls lost in the shrubbery.

A police spokeswoman said: “Jessie is making sure everything is safe for members of the public . . . She (also) keeps bringing balls back to the feet of her handler and we are returning them to the club.”
